Bleach anime to celebrate 20th anniversary with events and merchandise in Japan

This year marks two decades of the Bleach anime, and Shueisha has setup a special website to commemorate this occasion according to the official Bleach anime account on Twitter/X.

Among the events planned are exhibitions at the Yokohama Landmark Tower titled “BLEACH The Locus of the Brave” and a special music video shown at AnimeJapan; character-branded Visa cards; stickers and stamps. Additional projects are expected to be revealed at a later date.

Viz Media also shared a new illustration of Ichigo Kurosaki for North American fans. So far, there’s no word if any events will take place outside of Japan.

Adapted from the manga Bleach by Tite Kubo, anime originally broadcast October 5th, 2004 through March 27th, 2012 for 366 episodes. A second series, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War began October 11th, 2022 and is currently streaming internationally on Disney+. Four fully animated movies were also released: Bleach: Memories of Nobody in 2006, Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion in 2007, Bleach: Fade to Black in 2008 and Bleach: Hell Verse in 2010.

The manga originally was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from August 7th, 2001 until August 22nd, 2016, before being compiled into 74 individual volumes.
