The Summer Festival at SFU

BCIT to host Summer Festival this Saturday

Close out summer at a Japanese-style festival filled with pop culture, fun and shopping all under a single roof. The Summer Festival is free one-day event that runs from 1:30 pm PDT until 8:00 pm PDT on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 in Building SE16 at the Burnaby campus of BCIT (3700 Willingdon Avenue).

Based on the “matsuri” festival in Japan, the Summer Festival is anime-focused and attendees are encouraged to wear cosplay. Dozens of booths will offer artwork, handicrafts and other merchandise from local artisans and vendors. Enjoy the entertainment options and contests on the main stage, or check in on the panels. And of course, there’s always a selection of tasty treats to consume from popular eateries like Japanese Crepe Sasuke, Kona Ice, Aiyaohno Cafe and Konbiniya!

Admission to the Summer Festival is free and is presented in conjunction by both the SFU Anime and BCIT Anime clubs. There is pay parking on campus, but taking transit is also an option — TransLink bus 130 stops right outside on Willingdon Avenue.
