An eighth season of the popular anime My Hero Academia is confirmed to be its last when it airs next year according to the show’s official Twitter/X account early on Saturday morning.
A key visual illustrated by Yoshihiko Umakoshi of Bones shows a determined Izuku “Deku” Midoriya wielding his Black Whip attack was included in the social media post. On the side of the image, it says “This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes.”
Kohei Horikoshi’s manga My Hero Academia, of which the anime is adapted from, concluded in August of this year, with the final chapter published on Monday, August 5th, 2024.
A specific date of when the eighth season for My Hero Academia will broadcast was not provided. It’s anticipated further information will be made available during Jump Festa 2025 later this December.
The My Hero Academia anime began on April 3th, 2016; it is approaching the end of its seventh (and current) season, with the finale scheduled to air on Sunday, October 12th, 2024. The anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
