To promote the upcoming second season of Kaiju No. 8, which premieres on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, a new key visual was shared to social media early Sunday.
In the artwork, atop a menacing JAKDF director Isao Shinomiya, are third division members Kikoru Shinomiya and Kafka Hibino (as Kaiju No. 8), and first division captain Gen Narumi.
As well, the special episode “Hoshina’s Day Off” will stream worldwide on X/Twitter, on Saturday, July 9th, 2025, according to the show’s social media account.
The episode was only shown in theatres as part of first season recap film Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon back in April.
The manga Kaiju No. 8, written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto, is currently serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ and on MANGA Plus. In North America, VIZ Media publishes the English-translated manga in digital and print formats. An anime adaptation, from Production I.G, premiered on April 13th, 2024, and streams on Crunchyroll.
