The 40th anniversary event Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri kicked off with the announcement of a new anime series titled Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol.
Goku’s voice actor Masaki Nozowa and Dragon Ball executive producer Akio Iyoku were present on stage for the announcement which included a video montage of Dragon Ball from its beginnings to the current day.
Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will take place after the Universe Survival Arc of Dragon Ball Super, adapting the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc in the manga, and is based on an original story and characters by Akira Toriyama.

A new key visual of Vegeta and Goku was shown on screen.
While production is underway, a premiere date was not mentioned.
Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri is currently streaming on YouTube in Japanese with English subtitles.
