Tears of the Azure Sea makes a splash in Canadian theatres this May

Rimuru’s latest adventure is heading to the big screen, courtesy of Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea arrives in Canadian theatres on Friday, May 1st, 2026, in both subbed and dubbed formats.

National chains Cineplex and Landmark Cinemas are expected to offer the film.

Fans can catch an exclusive 10‑minute preview of the upcoming film, available only during a special one‑day screening of the 2023 release That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond on Monday, April 20th, 2026.

After concluding the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest, Rimuru and his companions are invited by the Celestial Emperor Elmesia of the great elven nation – the Magi Dynasty Thalion – to visit her private resort island. As the group enjoys their brief vacation, a mysterious woman named Yura appears. A new incident unfolds against the backdrop of the boundless azure sea.

Season four That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime premieres Friday, April 3rd, 2026, on Crunchyroll.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi, with a screenplay written by Yasuhito Kikuchi and Toshizo Nemoto, based on a story by Fuse, and animation production by Eightbit, opens in Japanese theatres on Friday, February 27th, 2026.
