In anticipation of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, which premieres in October 2022, the official Twitter account for the anime shared new promotional artwork featuring the main cast.

The Thousand-Year Blood War animates the gripping end to Bleach, with the Soul Society under siege by Yhwach, the forebear of the Quincies, as he attempts to eradicate all Soul Reapers.

Appearing in the image — clockwise from top — is Yhwach, Uryu Ishida, Orihime Inoue, Rukia Kuchiki, Ichigo Kurosaki, Renji Abarai, and Yasutora Sado. Text overlaying the characters translates into “The power to crush fate is similar to a blade being swung down.”

Staff who worked on the original anime run have returned, including character designer Masashi Kudo and composer Shiro Sagisu. Tomohisa Tagushi is directing this new series with animation by Studio Pierrot.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is adapted from the manga Bleach by Tite Kubo which comprises 74 volumes published August 7th, 2001 to August 22nd, 2016.
