One Piece Film: Red brings in ¥9.2 billion since premiering in Japan

It’s a big haul for Luffy and the Straw Hats with the movie One Piece Film: Red taking ¥9.2 billion JPY (approximately $87,119,915.35 CAD) in box office sales since opening in Japanese theatres on August 6th, 2022.

A post made to the official One Piece Twitter account detailed that in the last 16 days since the movie’s release, 6.65 million people have purchased tickets to watch the high seas action in the big screen.

Translated, the post reads “ONE PIECE FILM RED in 16 days since release has mobilized 6.65 million people with box office revenue exceeding ¥9.2 billion. Thank you very much to everyone who came out to see the movie at the theatre. From August 27th (Saturday), a third wave of gifts will be given out to visitors. We hope you enjoy it!”

Uta is a world-famous singer — her voice is as enigmatic as that of her appearance while on stage in that no one knows what she looks like! Uta plans to unveil herself in front of a packed concert and many pirates, along with the Navy, are in attendance to experience this amazing event. Despite all this buzz around her appearance, Uta is supposedly the daughter of legendary captain Red-Haired Shanks…

One Piece Film: Red will sail into Canadian, US, Australian and New Zealand theatres later this fall. Dates for the release are not yet available.
