A feature film based on the action-packed soccer anime BLUE LOCK is slamming into the big screen next month. Sony Pictures Entertainment and Crunchyroll have teamed up to bring BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI- to theatres across Canada on Friday, June 28th, 2024
As part of this announcement, Crunchyroll has shared a new English-subtitled trailer for the movie.
Cineplex, Landmark Cinemas and Cinémas Guzzo will screen BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI- in Japanese with English subtitles as well as dubbed in English.
The movie is directed by Shunsuke Ishikawa, featuring an original story by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Kouta Sannomiya, character designs by Yusuke Nomura, composition and screenplay by Taku Kishimoto, music by Jun Murayama, and animation production by Eightbit.

Crunchyroll provided a synopsis of the film.
“That’s a hassle.” That was second-year high schooler Nagi Seishiro’s favorite phrase as he lived his dull life. Until Mikage Reo, a classmate who dreamed of winning the World Cup, discovered Nagi’s hidden skill, inspiring him to play soccer and share his outstanding talent. One day, he receives an invitation to the mysterious BLUE LOCK Project. What awaits him there is an encounter with the finest strikers assembled from across the country. Nagi’s dream of becoming the best, alongside Reo, will take this prodigy to a world he’s never known.
A prodigy can only be shaped when someone discovers him….now, striker Nagi Seishiro’s incredible talent and persona will set the soccer world ablaze.
BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI- opened in Japanese theatres on April 19th, 2024.
BLUE LOCK is a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura and is serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. A spin-off manga, BLUE LOCK: EPISODE NAGI, is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Kota Sannomiya, appears in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. Both manga are available translated into English from Kodansha USA. An anime adapted from the original manga first aired on October 9th, 2022 and currently streams on Crunchyroll.
