Anime streaming giant Crunchyroll has announced they will stream Dragon Ball DAIMA beginning Friday, October 11th, 2024 with new episodes following weekly in Canada, the United States, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Southeast Asia.
Dragon Ball DAIMA is a new series based on a story and characters by the late Akira Toriyama and its release coincides with the Dragon Ball series 40th anniversary later this year.
Crunchyroll provided a synopsis of the new show in a press release: Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. What sort of adventure awaits Goku, Supreme Kai, and the new characters Glorio and Panzy in this unknown world, the “Demon Realm”?
Dragon Ball DAIMA is directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki, animation character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, series composition and scenarios by Yuko Kakihara, and animation production by Toei Animation.
The song “Jaka Jaan” by German DJ Zedd and C&K, with lyrics by Yukinojo Mori, was selected as the opening theme, while “NAKAMA”, also by Zedd, featuring Japanese-American singer AI.
Dragon Ball DAIMA was first revealed during New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 12th, 2023.
