Ranma 1/2 remake clean opening revealed ahead of series broadcast

A video of the clean, or textless, opening for the remake of Ranma 1/2 is now available on YouTube and social media.

The song “Iinazuke Kyun” by Ano was selected as the theme opening the new episodes which begin streaming globally on Netflix starting Saturday, October 5th, 2024.

Ranma Saotome and his father Genma are visiting China to undertake martial arts training when they mistakenly enter the cursed Jusenkyo hot springs. Those who bathe in these hot springs are destined to take on the spirits of people and creatures who have perished in its waters in centuries past. Thus, when splashed with cold water, Ranma adopts a girls persona and Genma transforms into a panda! This turns into a series of comedic and action-packed events between the two, their family and friends.

The Ranma 1/2 remake is directed by Konosuke Uda, with series composition by Kimiko Ueno, character designs by Hiromi Taniguchi, chief animation directors Hiromi Taniguchi, Tsuyoshi Yoshikawa, Yoshiko Saito, and Nao Otsu, lead animation by Nao Naito and Rie Aoki, artwork by Minami Kitamura, music composition by Kaoru Wada, planning by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd., and animation production by MAPPA.
