Experience a Japanese summer festival downtown this month

With summer just around the corner, a Vancouver tradition returns to the heart of the city. The Japan Market Summer Festival returns to the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Saturday, June 14th, and Sunday, June 15th, 2025 offering all things Japanese through food, music, local artisan goods, and, cultural demonstrations.

Last year, over 80 vendors setup shop, with nearly 8,000 attendees exploring their wares. For 2025, featured vendors include Roasted Revolution, itchyichi, CakeYa, AKA HANNA, Natsukashii Ink, Tokyo Katsu-Sand, and Yayoi.

Cultural presentations will feature taiko drumming, karate demonstrations, with local groups performing traditional dances.

Japan Market Summer Festival is open from11:00 am through 7:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. A $5.00 CAD admission ($4.00 if purchased online early) is required to enter and explore the stalls. Save the hassle of finding parking by riding transit — the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia Street, is a five minute walk from Granville Station on the Expo Line and Vancouver City Centre Station on the Canada Line.
