The cancellation of E3 this year left a void where gaming companies would show off their latest projects and announcements all under bright lights, packed auditoriums and the glitzy Los Angeles skyline.

Enter Summer Game Fest, an online event running May through August 2020 with a huge line up of developers and platforms to bring digital content, news, interactive demos and other surprises online.

The phase one line-up of firms announced on the Summer Game Fest Facebook page include 2K Games, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard, Bungie, CD Projekt, Digital Extremes, Electronic Arts, PlayStation, Private Division, Riot Games, Square Enix, Steam, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Xbox.

Sony had previously revealed they were not attending E3 this year before it was cancelled, and Microsoft said they would move their events online as a result of the multi-day expo going offline for 2020.

A finalized schedule of programming was not yet made available.
