The announcement included a teaser image of Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha and Kakashi Hatake as they appeared when the show first aired in October 2002, although in the animation style used by Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Animation studio Pierrot is handling production of the new episodes.

Additionally, for the opening, Japanese rock band FLOW will perform a rendition of their hit song “GO!!!” which was used as the fourth opening of the anime, with their cover of ORANGE RANGE’s “Viva☆Rock” as the ending theme. Many of FLOW’s songs were used throughout the series; fans will easily recall “Re:member”, “Sign”, “Niji no Sora”, and “Gold.”

Other events across Japan commemorating this achievement include Naruto The Gallery, showcasing artwork and other imagery from the anime, and Naruto The Live, a series of concerts with performances by KANA-BOON, CHiCO with HoneyWorks, FLOW, Ikimonogakari, Humbredders, ANLY, and Orange Range.

August 29th, 2023 update

The broadcast of the four new episodes is now postponed due to quality issues with the animation.
