Chainsaw Man

Slay demons in style with Chainsaw Man from Uniqlo this August

Japan-based fast fashion retailer Uniqlo has unveiled its latest collaboration that involves a hit anime series. The “Chainsaw Man x Kosuke Kawamura UT” line-up is a collection of t-shirts featuring designs arranged by collage artist Kosuke Kawamura that will hit Uniqlo stores on August 24th, 2023 in Canada and the United States.

There’s nine shirts in the collection — five short sleeve and four long sleeve tees, which are priced at $29.90 CAD and $39.90 CAD, respectively. Kawamura utilizes his “cut and rebuild” style to make each piece unique for Uniqlo’s streetwear fashion scene. The bold lines contrast with the white or black fabric, and suit just about any outfit.

Denji, with his chainsaw devil dog named Pochita, is stuck doing deeds for the local yakuza. After making contact with another devil, Denji is murdered by the yakuza. To stave off death, Denji merges with Pochita and is reborn as the Chainsaw Man to exact revenge upon the mobsters who killed him. Seeing Denji’s newfound strength, he is recruited into a government organization to hunt down and eliminate devils who pose a threat to the rest of the world.

For a limited time, fans can pick-up a special sticker of Denji as the Chainsaw Devil in front of the UT logo. Scan the barcode on the back with smartphone camera to enjoy an augmented reality scene on Instagram. Stickers are limited to one sticker per customer, while supplies last.

Crunchyroll began streaming Chainsaw Man on October 12th, 2022 where it premiered with English subtitles and English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German dubs. The series was adapted from the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto which first was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, and now in Shonen Jump+; whereas Viz Media publishes the English-translated versions for North America in digital and print formats.
