The students of True Cross Academy are back in action in Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga which premieres on January 6th, 2024. The date was confirmed and a new teaser video were shown during the Blue Exorcist panel as part of Jump Festa 2024.
Japanese rock band UVERworld returns to provide the opening theme “Eye’s Sentry”, while the song “Class Diary” by Mulasaki-Ima will play over the end credits.
A new promotional poster was also shown with the main character in festival outfits, a central event in the new season.
As the students return to their regular schedules at school following the sealing of the Impure King, an increase in demon appearances has made everyone wary of their surroundings. During a school festival, Lucifer, the leader of the Illuminati makes an introduction and declares war on the True Cross. Intent on combining this world with the underworld, Rin Okumura and his friends will face their greatest foe yet.
Hosted by the voice actors Nobuhiko Okamoto (Rin Okumura), Jun Fukuyama (Yukio Okumura), Kana Hanazawa (Shiemi Moriyama), and Eri Kitamura (Izumo Kamiki), they shared updates on the new season of the anime and revisited their favourite scenes from the manga.
A video game based on the Blue Exorcist series titled AlternaWelt: Blue Exorcist Gaiden is under development with a planned release in the summer of 2024 for PC, Android, and Apple iOS devices.
